DVD-R FAQ
Will Singular Films DVD's work in
my player?
For mail order from the website, Singular
Films uses DVD-R's. DVD-R's appear to
the eye to be identical to DVD's but are
created using different technology. DVD-R's
are playable on most standard DVD players
and computer DVD-ROM drives. Since Singular
Films DVDs utilize newer DVD recording
technology, our DVDs may be incompatible
with a small number of players. If your
player was purchased after 1999, it is
very likely to be compatible with our
DVD releases.
What is the life expectancy of a
DVD disc? Will it wear down from repeated
play?
Provided that you keep proper care and
handling of the disc, DVD discs can be
expected to last anywhere from 100 to
300 years. Unlike VHS, it will not wear
down or show any degradation in quality
no matter how many times it is played.
What region codes are your DVD videos
set to? Are your DVDs available in PAL
format?
All Singular Films DVD releases are set
to play in "All Regions." However,
all Singular Films DVD releases are created
in the North American NTSC video format,
so you will need to have an NTSC-compatible
player if you live in a country which
uses a different video standard. This
should be not be an issue if you are using
a DVD-ROM drive and are playing our DVD
discs on your computer monitor.
